The College of Liberal Arts encourages faculty members to use the Absence/Failure Reporting System as a regular feature of class management. The Absence/Failing Report can be found online at https://utdirect.utexas.edu/ns/ns.unique.WBX .

Why use this online form?

  • It allows instructors to reach out to struggling students.
  • It documents the contact on the student's record.
  • If done prior to the drop deadline, it can provide students with helpful feedback in making the decision to keep or drop the class (with your permission if it is during the Q/F period).

If you have any questions, please contact an advisor in your department or in the Student Division, 471-4271.
