Liberal Arts Career Services (LACS) is located in Flawn Academic Center (FAC 18). The mission of LACS is to help students translate their liberal arts education into a world of possibilities.
LACS provides the following resources for students:
LACS helps students craft resumes, cover letters, and other job- or internship-related correspondence.
UT Austin Liberal Arts students have access to job and internship posting sites offering opportunities for all career interests in Texas and around the world. Some examples are LiberalArts@Work, AccessUT, Hirealonghorn, NACElink, LACS Resource Library, etc. Students will also have access to LACS career fairs and on-campus interviews.
LACS provides wonderful tips for interviewing. There are downloadable PDFs on LACS' website with interviewing information, but students are also welcome to schedule an appointment with a LACS counselor.
LACS is here to ensure students are making well-informed decisions about law or graduate school and that once they’ve made the decision to apply, their application is the best it can be.
LACS offers courses that allow students to earn credit for internships and college to career courses. Past course offerings have also included The Liberal Arts Entrepreneur and Introduction to Callege/Career Coaching Theory and Practice.
For more information, see LACS' faculty and staff section of their website.
