The university holds a campus-wide commencement ceremony at the end of the spring semester. Each college and school also holds a commencement ceremony in the spring, and many hold graduation exercises in the fall. Since no graduation ceremonies are held in the summer, students who graduate in the summer may attend Commencement in the fall semester (if the college or school holds a ceremony) or in the spring. Students should consult with their academic advisor early in the semester of graduation for information about commencement activities and procedures.

All Liberal Arts students are invited to participate in the College of Liberal Arts joint commencement ceremony held in fall and spring. In addition, some departments conduct their own ceremonies for the spring semester. In the spring, students may attend the Liberal Arts joint ceremony, their department ceremony (if applicable), and/or the university-wide ceremony.

For more information on college and departmental commencement ceremonies, see: http://www.utexas.edu/cola/student-affairs/Academic-Planning/Graduation/Commencement.php.
